Hatherley Medical Has Joined MyMedicare
06 June 2026

Hatherley Medical Centre is now registered with MyMedicare, a new voluntary patient registration model from the Australian Government designed to strengthen the relationship between patients, their GP and their usual general practice.
What is MyMedicare?
MyMedicare allows you to formally nominate Hatherley Medical Centre as your regular practice and choose a preferred GP. Registration is completely free and gives our team access to additional Medicare funding that supports longer, more comprehensive care — particularly for people managing chronic or complex health conditions.
What are the benefits of registering?
– Longer telehealth consultations with your usual GP, fully covered by Medicare
– Better continuity of care, with your nominated GP and practice team coordinating your treatment
– Access to additional funded support for people with chronic conditions and frequent hospital visits
– More time during appointments for preventive health, mental health and complex care planning
– A clearer record of who your regular GP is, which helps with referrals, hospital discharge and aged care
Who can register?
Any patient who has visited Hatherley Medical Centre at least twice in the past 24 months and holds a valid Medicare or DVA card is eligible to register. Children under 18 months only need to have visited the practice once.
How to register
There are three easy ways to sign up:
1. Ask our reception team at your next appointment — it takes just a few minutes
2. Register through your Medicare online account via myGov
3. Use the Express Plus Medicare app on your phone
Registering with MyMedicare does not stop you from seeing other doctors or visiting other practices. You remain in full control of your care, and you can change or cancel your registration at any time.
If you would like to know more, please speak to our reception team or your GP at your next visit.
